Connect with friends on WordPress.com by using a WordPress widget to find and socially connect with your social media friends whom are also using WordPress.com and blogging.

Social Media friends on Facebook, Twitter and Google are automatically linked and brought into your Reader on WordPress. It is a subscription and your WordPress Reader updates when new blogs are posted by your connected friends.

WordPress is socially connecting itself and becoming social media too. I like it. Very cool – thanks WordPress.

My screenshot shows you where to find the application to FIND FRIENDS in your WordPress.com blog. Login to your WordPress.com account.

• On the dashboard open your drop-down menu “your account” and click Find My Friends. The next prompt will be “Find Friends” with Twitter, Facebook and Google choices. Click one at a time, Word Press will search your social media account and match them to you if they are also in WordPress’s database.
• Another prompt will come up with the “matched listing” and you may review who they are and click the follow if you want to follow them.
• Once you “follow” your socially connected friend, then each blog they do thereafter will appear, automatically, in your WordPress Reader.

Business model?  

A business model describes the rationale of how an organization creates, delivers, and captures value (economic, social, or other forms of value). The process of business model construction is part of business strategy and your online business.

Internet obscurity – Website obscurity – Products and Services obscurity – Location obscurity, also known as your Online Business Model on the Internet is in obscurity when we all begin, but it is not where you want to stay.

In theory and practice the term business model is used for a broad range of informal and formal descriptions to represent core aspects of a business, including purpose, offerings, strategies, infrastructure, organizational structures, trading practices, and operational processes and policies, this is your online business.

Whenever a business is established online, it either explicitly or implicitly employs a particular business model that describes the architecture of the value creation, delivery, and capture mechanisms employed by the business enterprise. The essence of a business model is that it defines the manner by which the online business enterprise delivers value to customers, entices customers to pay for value, and converts those payments to profit: it thus reflects management’s hypothesis about what customers want, how they want it, and how an enterprise can organize to best meet those needs, get paid for doing so, and make a profit.

Your products, services and location being obscure online does not have to be a reality. My Favorite Free Social Media Icon is Social Jeans – look how cute they are – fits right in with my cowboy hat.

Note:  It is my experience: Free icon websites set up their site, of course to sell you something and this one is no different, but the selection(s) is very nice and easy to download. The drawback is: They may be up, only for a short time because it didn’t generate the business or “sell you something” as expected. So get your icons, save them to your hard drive or USB drive. I recommend downloading both .ico and .png to have on hand the .ico, but use the .png most often for your email signature and linking uploads. An icon is worth a thousand words.

.ico images will not upload to many image editors. WordPress will upload .ico, but my template website and Zemanta will not. .png used to be just as troublesome, but no more problems uploading .png to just about everything. If you have trouble uploading .png’s and .ico’s comment to this post and I’ll reply as quickly as possible to help you out.

I stumbled across this great site. I hope it stays up for a long time, but to make sure I got what I wanted I downloaded the icons to my USB flash drive. I just love this kind of stuff. FREE makes it even better.  P.S. My USB drives (16GB) were on clearance for $14 each, normally a $42 Kingston Data Traveler 101 Generation 2.  If you need one click the image.

I recommend downloading the PNG format for most uses and uploading. The ICO format may be an incompatible image format for some image uploading apps.  Word Press uploads ICO just fine, but my website template editor gives me an error message and will not upload .ico to my site or image gallery.

Gatherer v Organizer

Gatherer – I’m a gatherer, meaning I gather than organize. I look at the “thing”, analyse it, rethink it, figure out how many more uses it has, and/or completely re-invent the wheel from the “thing’s” original intention making organization of the “thing” practically impossible and a serious thought process – OH BOTHER!

Organizer – The aforementioned ”thing” is immediately placed, without quandry, in its organized proper spot, ready to use as intended (lots of times with how-to-use instructions) when needed (not to mention can be found when wanting to use). – FINISHED!  NEXT?

Immediate Gratification??

Gatherer – no!

Organizer – yes!

This is where an “everything in moderation” thinking should occur.

For the Gatherer: be moderate, not everything has a dual purpose, it is okay.

For the Organizer: use the “thing” first before putting it in its organized place, so you do not forget you have it to begin with.
